While the age of a postcard can be important there are other factors to think about as well. Is the postcard unique or was it mass produced? What is the condition of the the vintage postcard you are looking at? Like with all other collectables the condition may well be the most important factor. The opinion of the seller is not always to be trusted especially when you spend a small fortune to buy your cards. It is not just a matter of the seller trying to take advantage of you, the seller in most cases might , like in the the case of an auctioneer may just not be all that knowledgeable. Look for someone who has dealt in collectables for a long time and has a good reputation.
